Puffy clouds
How high is the base of this cloud? I'm going to explain how to calculate it's base, and then show you a simple formula.

As a result of learning about drone piloting (my lessons in avionics), I crafted my own personal formula.

I'm sure at this point in my journey as a writer/blogger, that I have not shared my interest for ideograms, symbolism, and language. I am fascinated by them, each one tells a story that transcends words, and what's not fascinating about that?

But, in point of fact, I have spent quite a bit of time listening, watching, and learning about geometry and mathematics. My understanding still remains remedial, but that hasn't stifled my interest. In my opinion, math and the surrounding subjects is a tale worth listening to.

After taking in some of the available media for aviation, it became very clear to me that these people spoke a different language. I would refer to them as sky people or perhaps people of the wind. with their orientation being towards the sky, their thoughts reflect a very, very different way of thinking, that is from my terrestrial perspective.

For instance here's a couple of terms I learned to describe characteristics and attitudes that are dangerous in the least, and life-threatening at worst. Five Hazardous Attitudes; Impulsivity, Invulnerability, Machismo, Resignation, Anti-authority. These struck me in an odd way, mostly because these terms are not commonly used in most people's daily dialog.

Or maybe the term stewardess or flight attendant catches your ear like mine, in any other environment I would think I would refer to them as may be "server, or hostess" but they are a customer service entity with a unique title.

As a side thought, I have been traveling by air often recently and I always remind myself to be courteous to people who do service jobs. It is incredibly important for people who have jobs serving others in such a capacity, to be treated with as much respect as possible. I do my best to do this. Generally, there are only one or two things standing between myself and chaos, I notice more and more that it's people. So to all you people who do service thank you, I salute you and support you in your endeavors to be the best you can.

Also, I learned other valuable things like METAR, NOTAM, and various other terms. As I, it became very clear that Aeronautics as a practice requires a lot of deep thinking and understanding.

I came across a formula for figuring what the cloud base is and here it is; (Mind you this formula is for figuring finding the CB above ground level)

1. Find the difference between the current temperature and current dew point.

2. Divide the difference by 4.4, then multiply the result by 1000. There you go, you now know the current cloud base above ground level!

For some reason, after I learned it, I have kept on thinking about it, and that's when I came up with this formula. I found symbols that made sense to me and I wrote it down many times until I understood it in my own way.

So later, as I was out playing with my daughter, she asked to do some sidewalk chalk art with me, so

I took advantage and wrote it out with some pretty colors. I make myself laugh... I know it reflects my child-like mentality, to be honest, it does so perfectly lol.

This is my formula for finding cloud base. It was fun finding the symbols to project an abstract thought. Also, MiDaS had a good time too~

I have thoroughly enjoyed yet another lesson from the fly guys. Aviation is a great and masterful expression of the human spirit.

There is one thing I would like to point out before I go. These guys created an entirely new topographical view of the world. They were standing in the sky when Longitude and Latitude were born as a way to map coordinates, and more precisely figure out where you are now. Come to think of it, this was probably born of ancient Sumerians, then practiced by Pythagoras, his students, as well many other genius thinkers. It had to have been passed through many hands to get to where it is today. So once again, Thank You Fly Guys for being the coolest!

I'll see you around, and thanks for stopping by!
